e-in-back-yard1-640x425

On April 21st, Ernestine celebrated her 10th birthday! Lots of her oldest, bestest friends were there, which made it super special. The party was at Crate Escape too which shined with all it’s renovated beauty!

Welcome, welcome, our tails are SO excited!

Here it is! The new Crate and Raining website! We are thrilled to offer you up to date information about our facilities, your dogs and whatever else is relevent! Ernie (see her bio in the ‘About’ section) has been running around pushing her favorite ball (which is almost bigger than she is) in circles, knowing the website is a good thing and good things sometimes lead to treats! Now you can refer your friends here for complete information about Crate-Escape and Raining Cats and Dogs. Paw five! (ok, know there are a lot of exclamation marks, but you know how it goes, when one gets excited, others add their excited woof-woofs and soon it is the whole pack. Of course, we welcome you as part of the pack.)

Crate-Escape

Nikki and Lauren are howlingly happy about their parking lot view! The front desk at Crate has moved up front, near the entrance door, the garage doors are glass and it is a beautiful place to be! The food, toy and treat section is next, and will soon lure you in with our healthy, yummy treats and fun toys. We also carry only-the-best dog food and we have samples of many brands and flavors. We would love to chat with you about the options. And we cannot sign off without mentioning all our beautifully, handsome doggie stars adorning the website. You guys are the best! (positive reinforcement, no treats)

Raining Cats and Dogs

Wow! So glad you shared photos of having fun at daycare! We have to get you in the movies! More good news, Manager, Jenny is checking out new toys that are available and will undoubtedly select the most fun and maybe even durable! In any case they will all be well made. We will keep you up to date.

Good News

Fayth, the adorable jack russell mix featured in our January 13th blog, has found a foster home. She is still looking for a forever home. Children over 10 are fine; otherwise good with cats and dogs, crate trained, house trained and leash trained. And adorable!

Words of Wisdom

Hi, it’s Calvin. Thank you so much for giving me such a special spot on the website. I am having a blast, swimming, chasing balls and playing every day. You guys are the best!

Keeping things short today, encouraging you to check out our website!

We are too excited to bark!

Crate-Escape

Our beloved Crate is changing, changing every day! Our dogs are requesting a Hansel and Gretel trail of treats to map the way from the front door to the daycare (oops, it’s the caretakers who might get lost; how about a trail of individually wrapped caramels?  The dogs can find their way just fine!) Anyway, the traditional warehouse garage doors are now beautiful glass and very soon, we will be greeting you from a front desk, just steps from the entry door. Bradley has been building away all weekend and our ‘new look’ is just days away!

Raining Cats and Dogs

Always smiling and SO excited about every new dog they meet, RCD staffers have a particular interest when an existing daycare dog gets a new brother or sister.  (In fact, sometimes it is hard to get them to return the dog to his caretaker at the end of the day. (kidding, kind of!) If you are considering a second, third ++ there are tons of dogs available for adoption all the time. Sometimes we get the inside scoop on a pooch looking for a foster or a new home.  We currently know of an adorable 4-5 year old poodle/jack russell mix…. so if you have debated either situation, check with Raining or Crate for more information.  Her photo is in the link below (sorry it’s so big! probably almost lifesize!?)

Do your Dogly Duty

Why does it seem that there are always more poops not scooped in the winter? Because we can see them better? Or caretaker’s hands get cold? Hmmm.. not good excuses. Here is an article from Somerville addressing the subject.

Let’s all do it!?!  Thanks!

Business Stuff

Hope everyone made it through the snow ok. Many of our pups are in heaven!

Please be sure to call ahead to make reservations for daycare. 24 hours is preferred, but anytime the day before the actual day is fine. If you call the day of your requested daycare, we will let you know what’s up; we might have to say no. We have been extremely busy since Thanksgiving and this is the best way to guarantee your dog can come to daycare whenever you wish!

Thanks! 2011 has really started with a big WOOF!
