Crate Escape too will be open on Saturdays starting September 10, 2011. Our Saturday hours will be from 9am – 5pm; one hour longer than before the renovation, woo hoo! Crate Escape is still open for daycare on Saturdays, by reservation only! You probably already know that on weekdays CEtoo is closing 1/2 hour later, at 6:30pm. Now the Crates have the same hours!
Chews A Cause
Starting this week, the Crates (CE and CEtoo) will be setting up donation bins where you may drop off dog and cat related items that you are no longer using. This is the 2nd quarter of ‘Chews A Cause’, our program which donates to different shelters every 3 months. Nevins Farm, in Methuen, MA. is our new recipient. Sponsored by the MSPCA, Nevins Farm is a unique 55-acre animal care complex that provides shelter and adoption services for both farm and companion animals. We have copies of their ‘Wish List’ at the front desks. We received so many wonderful donations for our first shelter, Buddy Dog, we look forward to helping the animals at Nevins Farm! Thank you.
Thinking about Fostering a Dog or Adopting a Pet?
The Crates are big advocates of ‘adopt don’t shop’ when someone wants to add a pet to his family. The number of homeless dogs has skyrocketed in the last 10 years. We have joined the attempt to find foster or forever homes for these pups.
If you have ever considered fostering a dog, we have lots of information and resources to help you decide. The most frequent comments about fostering are that it is challenging, but one of the most rewarding experiences the foster parents have ever had. It cannot be ignored that each time a dog is adopted or fostered it literally saves another shelter dog’s life. The shelter space is that much in demand. We will have more information to offer you. If you are currently interested in adopting or fostering a dog, or you know someone who is, please email, firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
In Support of Pit Bulls
We have pit bulls in daycare who are wonderful dogs. In addition to ongoing media stories, all of the recent Michael Vick hoopla has created a wish to help educate people that this breed is widely misunderstood.
Coincidentally, there is a movie coming to the Arlington Regent Theater on September 15th at 7:30pm called ‘Beyond the Myth’. It is a documentary about pit bulls and breed discrimination. It is sponsored by mspca angell, Nevins Farm and PittieLove Rescue. Several people from Crate are going, more information and how to buy tickets is at:
We hope to see you there!
